This is accomplished through a particular process in which the t DNS Firewall relays queries pertaining to one’s nameservers to a local threatSHIELD Security server specifically designed to handle DNS inquiries. Once at this server the requests are verified and reviewed to ensure that they are legitimate, and if they are in fact malicious traffic they are then promptly blocked. If the proper DNS response is available in TSS’s cache, TSS will return the response to the visitor. If the DNS response is not available in cache, TSS will query the provider’s nameservers in the background to fetch the DNS response and send it back to the visitor.
